​Who I Am Today

            ... a Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, and Sound Healer with over 40 years of experience. My work blends touch, energy, and voice into a unique healing practice where sound and body meet to awaken wholeness.

 

Roots of the Path

             Massage and whales both entered my life in early 1982. Living in Indiana far from the ocean, I found myself captivated by a book on the lives of cetaceans and felt a strong pull to meet them in person. At the same time I was beginning to learn basic massage techniques. That pairing became the songline of my life.

 

Building foundations

           Three months later I moved to Santa Fe, NM to study at the Institute for Traditional Medicine where I became a certified massage therapist. My training included, among many things, energy modalities such as Polarity, Therapeutic Touch, and Touch for Health. On my own, I sometimes chanted or hummed during sessions- intuiting that sound itself could be better medicine for some than touch.

             In early 1985, I moved to Florida to prepare for the massage therapy boards there, and to launch a quest to meet and swim with dolphins in the Florida Keys. The launch did not materialize, but my path to healing arts work did. I started a massage therapy practice, taught basic and advanced massage classes, and continued doing research on whales and their forms of communication.

 

Turning Point

          Three decades into my practice in 2012, wrist discomfort led me away from deep tissue massage. I found myself called back to using the energy modalities I'd studied at ITM, adding Reiki, and the use of sound by integrating chanting, humming, and vocal toning into all my sessions — confirming that voice carries healing just as powerfully as touch. I still use touch in the form of some massage, rocking and stretching techniques, and weighted tuning forks.

 

Evolution to Today

           In 2024, I studied Sonic Anatomy Toning with Biofield Tuning pioneer Eileen Day McKusick and voice coaches Isaac and Thorald Koren, later becoming an instructor of their Sing the Body Electric program.

              In August 2025, on a dedicated whale watch, our group's communal hum was powerfully answered by a humpback breaching right before our eyes.

This sacred moment solidified my connection: my work with human clients channels that same powerful communication I feel with the ocean's largest singers.

My Healing Philosophy

               Healing is always a collaboration. Each session is a dance of energy, voice, and intention. Practitioner and client co-create a space for renewal, awakening your body's innate wisdom. My role is to help you reconnect with that wisdom through sound, touch and presence so that your own healing light feels available to you again.
